Pizza Keno and Vino.

Very nice awning.

My guess is that after the last episode on that property,  Chiocca will  be looking over their paperwork slower than a bootlicking IRS agent  on a Tea Party 501 c4 application. It is very hard to get the doors open and even harder to keep them that way.

I wish them the best of luck. Hopefully they will take my advice and capitalize on free social media like Rocklandnews to showcase an excellent product they can bring to our marketplace. Close to a quarter million dollars is spent every week on dining and take out right here in Rockland.  I would think that with the right mix you could grab a chunk of that.

The only thing I heard is that this will be a piano bar, and suposedly the interior has been redesigned to be more intimate. This ought to be interesting, a piano bar in Rockland.

I give it 3-4 months.  People will check it out and realize it has the same crowd as the previous 6-8 places and never go back.

Yes, perhaps it will become a favorite rendevous venue for the Rockland Yacht Club or the Rockland Literary Guild to host their meetings………

Don't under estimate the location. On the very block you've had some very successful business through the years. The Tall House ran twenty years, The FishBowl nearly the same. Borrougards was at least 7 or 8 years. Glenns Barber Shop 40 years the Stitchery 15 years or more, The laundry mat 25 years or more, the driving school lasted 30 years. Not just Seafood went twenty plus years.

Give me a nice piano bar atmosphere, a great flatbread, a fair priced bottle of wine with a well trained, polite, pleasant and professional server with the perfect balance of customer service  and you could be a big player on my monthly entertainment budget.

Give me another half assed sports bar and you may only see me once.

I would hope that something new like this would be a draw. I am in agreement with Rush, I''ve just about had my fill of sports bars. A nice atmosphere and a place to go to have a reasonable fare, and good service, I would frequent. Time will tell.

For those of you that remember Miene from the O'Hurley days or the Liberty, word has it she will be tending bar again here. That alone is a major plus.

I know some who has been hired there.  They showed me a few snap shots they took while they were doing some training and it definitely doesn't look like another sports bar.  Hey, I hope they make it but that location has had a bad track record.  I guess only time will tell…

My wife and I had a walk through the week before it opened and feel the changes and planned "entertainment" will work out great for this place.

Well I guess our visions of grandeur have been dashed again. I've heard from many sources that things are not going very well at all at "Someplace". Cooks spend the night sitting at the bar, wait staff hired and put in place the same day without as much as one nights training. Closing the place early most nights for lack of business while late night patrons pull on locked doors when trying to give the place a try. Same old tired lame food as Rockvegas. Over priced mixed drinks.Today there are two handwritten signs taped to the window, one reads New Cook, the other reads new manager, which I assume is the person who decided to put the two Magic Marker  signs in the window.

"Meet the new boss."

From what I see they should have named it , Sameplace.

It never ceases to amaze me when people shell out tens of thousands of dollars to open a restaurant and not even have a business plan to make it work. yell

I have been there a few times since it opened.  Warm over priced beers and bartenders that couldn't play my keno because they didn't know how to use the machine.  I drove by Saturday night after the bruins game (6/22/13) and place was in darkness and closed.  No successful bar closes before 11pm on a Saturday.  I said 5 months this place will be lucky if they last 5 more weeks.  Stick a fork in them, they are done!

Went in there a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. Hardly any patrons, and although the staff were friendly enough, they didn't seem to know what the heck they were doing. Even if it stays open I doubt I'll be going back.

I am sad to hear all the negative feed back on this establishment. Neal (the new owner) is a great guy and I think his ideas on the new look and feel were right on the mark, but if the staff is not trained properly and with little to no promotion I am afraid it won't last.

Neal is not the owner.  He was the manager.  And seeing there were signs of the front windows last week saying new manager his ideas were off the mark if you ask me.

You could be right Townie, but I did like the new look.

I agree it definitely looked better than the last establishments but not food/ beer specials to lure in a new crowd you just aren't going to make it.  To many local establishments with great deals.

I agree. Sadly I thought that was the plan, but in talking with a few people I also found that they had been dissuading some of the old regular clientele from coming back. I think that was a bit stupid. Granted some of them may have been, ah let's just say, undesirable, but they were paying clients. Until you can build up an new clientele you don't push away ANY business.

I agree with you.  I would never take on a bar at that location for one reason.  It's past is tough to crack.
