I’ve been a bit busy over the last few months since returning from my mini vacation of sorts. This past Saturday, I was back in downtown Rockland at RockVegas. The band on this evening was long time South Shore mainstay Eva Braun. Anyone who’s been following the band scene over the years really needs no introduction to these guys. No matter what form they have taken over the years, they are guaranteed to bring down the house with their brand of good ol’ rock ‘n roll.
Things started out a bit on the quiet side for the first set, but people started filing in near the end of that set and pretty much stuck around the rest of the night. Those of us there were treated to a little extra as the band was joined by Paul Carroll on keyboards. Paul plays with the band Severance and has been on the rock scene for many years. It was gonna be a fun night of music before he joined in the fun, but he helped to really bring things up a notch, especially when they played “Stanglehold” by Ted Nugent and “Roadhouse Blues” by The Doors.
Eva Braun has been pretty busy themselves as of late. They recently came of a tour playing out of state in Virginia and Florida. After they came back, they played five weekends in a row and this past weekend was their first back after a few weeks off to recharge the batteries. They tore into such crowd favorites as “Dreams I’m Never Gonna See” by Molly Hatchet, “Seasons of Wither” by Aerosmith and “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They will be returning to action across town at Gametime with special guests “Slapback” Friday, May 25. Eva Braun is Graham Branlund on guitar, Mike Ciavattieri on bass and Chico Walker on drums.
