Full Circle goes Country in Hanson

I do like my rock and roll, but every now and then a little variety is nice. The folks at Full Circle agree. They have been mixing up some modern country hits to their classic rock set list for a while now and it’s a good niche that keeps things fresh. This past Saturday night¬† however at the Venus III in Hanson, for only their second time, they abandoned the classic rock portion of their set list and went exclusively with country.

I’ve never been much of a country fan myself, but the country music these days is different from when I was growing up. No more Conway Twitty with the plastic hairpiece or sappy Tammy Wynette ballads.¬† To me some of today’s country rock is hard to differentiate from regular rock; as it were. It’s kinda a more danceable version of rock which is just what Full Circle is looking for; a dance floor full of happy patrons. Some of the artists they cover are Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Kenny Chesney and The Zac Brown Band.

The night started off a bit slow, perhaps due to the lousy weather we had during the day, but as the night went on people kept filing in and by time the second set started, there was a very good crowd there to fill up the dance floor. It stayed that way pretty much all night as the crowd was really enjoying dancing the night away to Full Circle’s Country night.

Full Circle is Robert Peddell on vocals, Johnny “One Note” Cesarini on guitar, Billy Mahoney on vocals and guitar, Chris Murray on bass and Steve Canney on drums. Their next gig is Friday night, June 29th at Player’s on VFW Drive in Rockland. For more information, please visit them here on their Facebook page.
