This past Saturday, the weather may have been a little on the damp side, but that couldn’t stop the Roctopus faithful from converging on The Marshfield Fair. This show is one that lead singer Paul Sarno always looks forward to being involved with. Whole families can come see the band and also enjoy everything the fair has to offer. They started off a bit on the slow side with songs like “Dead Flowers” by The Rolling Stones and Gilby Clarke, “Old Apartment” by Barenaked Ladies and “Hey Jealousy” by The Gin Blossums”. Things would pick up as they normally do when the tore into “Bad Religion” by Anthrax, “Sweet Emotion” by Aerosmith, and “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol. By the end of the afternoon, there were people dancing on the tables having a heck of a good time.
Roctopus is a relatively new band, but they are quickly picking up steam as a band that is must-see band for a fun night out. Roctopus is Paul Sarno on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Scott Hayes on lead giuitar, Chris Wilcox on bass and Gabe Luxton on drums. They next play at All Seasons Sports Bar in Halifax on September 8. For more information, please visit them at www.roctopus.us or on Facebook.
