ROCKLAND POST 147 FALL BALL

Rockland and Needham squared off again at Magoun Field
in Pembroke and the result was the same but the progress
by Post 147 was better. Rockland using wood bats for only
the second time, hit the ball more consistently than the first
time, but they also hit it right at Needham ball players.
Dan Gately (Abington) and Tom Clarkson (Thayer) hit
doubles, scoring Gately with the only run for Post 147.
Joe Pretorious (Whitman) hit two singles and caught the
whole game, but that would be it for Rockland hitting.
On the defensive side of the game, Tom Clarkson pitched
four innings, struck out six, and allowed only two runs. Brian
Cohen (Rockland) pitched two innings and allowed one run,
and J.T. Turner (Rockland) pitched one inning allowing two runs.
Dan Gately (Abington) closed the game and allowed no runs, but
Needham took the contest by a score of 5 to 1.
Up next Hawkeye (E. Bridgewater) Legion.
