A bad first inning plagued the Eagles and ultimately led to their demise in the season opener. Five walks and two errors led to 4 runs in the first inning for the Kingston Hornets. The Eagles were never able to recover leaving 9 runners on base. The Eagles has their share of opportunities with eight hits led by Chris Penney’s 2 hits and Jake Sullivan’s double. Alex Parker, Joe Murray and Zach Callahan each had their first Legion baseball hit. Sullivan also went 3 2/3 innings of no-hit relief, 5 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Rockland 10 Marshfield 0

Everything that went wrong in the opener was corrected in game 2 with excellent defense and pitching, and timely hitting. Aiden Glennon had a complete game shut-out, surrendering 6 hits while striking out 9 and walking 2. The game ended after six innings due to the 10 run rule. The Eagles were the beneficiaries of 14 Marshfield Midget’s walks, but also chipped in with 10 hits of their own. Leading the way was Sean Mcguirk with 3 hits and Jake Sullivan with two. Riley Salani got his first hit of his Legion career.
