Rockland POST 147 traveled to Plymouth POST 40

Rockland came out slow in the first inning going down in order. Plymouth came out swinging in the first inning, there lead off batter Nicklas started the game with a double to left field, there second batter manage to reach on an error and the third batter Mineo hit a 3 run home run to right field to take an early 3 run lead. Starting pitcher, Brian Fisher would then proceeded to strike out the next two batters but Post 40 player Cabral would hit a solo home run to left before Rockland could get out of the inning. Plymouth now led 4 – 0 and in the next three innings neither team mustered any offense. Rockland pitcher (Brian Fisher),settled in well only allowing 4 base runners in those 3 innings. Rockland came out in the top of the 5th inning leading off with Brian O’Donovan who hit a single to right field, the next batter would strike out and Andrew Frazer came to the plate and executed a perfect hit and run to move O’Donovan to second, Frazer would be out at first for the second out of the inning. The next batter Riley Lang would hit a single to center field scoring O’Donovan, then Nate Littman of Fitchburg State College would hit a double to right field scoring Lang and advancing to third on the through to the plate, Brandon Kirby would hit a single to center to score Littman and that would be the end scoring in the 5th inning. Brian Fisher would come out in the bottom of the 5th to shutdown Plymouth in order. The top of the 6th the scoring continued for Rockland with one out Brian Cohen, Brian O,Donovan and Tyler Murphy would all walk to load the basses for Rockland.  Andrew Frazer would come up to the plate and a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Cohen and both players advanced a base on the through. Then Riley Lang would come up and hit a single up the middle to score both Cohen and O’Donovan to finish the second 3 run inning in a row. The bottom of the 6th Plymouth would not score and the top of the 7th Rockland went down in order. The bottom of the 7th Brian Fisher would come out and shut down Plymouth in order to pith a complete came win, his first of the season. Brian Fisher pitched 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits only 2 walks with 2 strikeouts for his first win of the season and Rockland second win of the year. Riley Lang had 3 RBI’s going 2 for 3, Brian O’Donovan went 2 for 2 with a walk scoring 2 runs and Littman, Kirby,  Frazer all with 1 RBI to lead the team to a much needed win.
