Award Winning Twisted Pine Comes to the Blue Moon Coffeehouse Sat. October 11th

On Saturday, October 11th at 7:30 p.m.  The Blue Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland features Twisted Pine, recent winners of both the FreshGrass Bluegrass Festival Band Contest and the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival Band Contest.   Banjo player Ricky Mier also won the banjo contest at FreshGrass. The band has played at some of the most prestigious bluegrass festivals: the Greyfox Bluegrass Festival in New York as part of the Berklee College of Music and the American Roots program  showcase, the “Done Home Up Here” Bluegrass Festival at Club Passim, and  the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival. They also have a residency at the “center of Bluegrass in Boston,” the Cantab Lounge, returning to the stage every  Tuesday until December.  Their recently released EP will be available at  the show.   Twisted Pine is a Boston based 5-piece bluegrass band whose  members all share a common love for the traditional music of Bill Monroe,  Flatt & Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, and the Stanley Brothers. The band is  composed of Adam Moore on bass and vocals, Kathleen Parks  on fiddle and vocals, Rachel Sumner  on guitar and vocals, Dan Bui on mandolin, and Ricky Mier on 5-string banjo.
