Wide Open Spaces To Release New Bluegrass CD at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse, Sat. Feb 9

On Saturday, February 9th at 7:30 p.m., the bluegrass band Wide Open Spaces will be performing to promote the release of  their new CD, Fiddletown, at the Blue  Moon Coffeehouse in Rockland.  Wide Open Spaces plays “bluegrass without borders” with overtones of the Punch Brothers, Alison Krauss, Celtic jigs, Jimmy Buffet, Bill Monroe and the Beatles.  They combine the sounds of traditional instruments with modern song-writing, jazzy rock-edged arrangements and three part harmonies.   Popular all over the northeast, they play at some of the area’s most prestigious bluegrass festivals.   Between the band’s two sets, there will be an open mic.  Tickets are $7 at the door; children 12 and under are free.   For more information, visit www.thebluemooncoffeehouse.com.   You can listen to the band at their website: www.wideospaces.com.    The coffeehouse is located at Channing Unitarian Universalist Church, 45 Webster St. in Rockland, located right beside the post office.
