After many years of trying, Bob Biggins has convinced the powers that be to extend the Rockland Christmas Stroll past the Banner Irish Pub and the downtown shops all the way to his magnificent colonial mansion on the corner of Vernon and Union Street again this year. Biggins has been a longtime supporter of the stroll, donating thousands to the event over the past fifteen years. This year, the Biggins family has taken the lead role in the stroll by housing the star of the day himself, Santa Claus, in the Christmas room at the mansion. Biggins promises to have the halls all decked with bows of holly and everyone at Biggins Inc. to be jolly for the second year in a row. Bob has many surprises in store for the townspeople, also.

The news was very well received by Rockland Walgreens Manager and Lions Business Partner of the Year, Ms Pinto.  In a recent interview with Pinto, she said “We are ecstatic about the new venue; I think we are going to be able to produce some really beautiful photographs with the Biggins back drop.  We think that the people will be ordering a lot more prints and enlargements at the store to go along with their free one.”  Pinto also announced that Walgreens will be giving out free flu shots at the event for anyone who needs one. Time and time again, Walgreens steps up for Rockland!

This year’s Rockland Christmas Stroll promises to be the best ever. From the fire barrel at the fire station to the pictures with Santa at Biggins, and hundreds of things in between, this really will be the best night of the year in  the old shoe town.
