Blind Ambition at Damien’s

It feels good getting back into the swing of things as it relates to my band hopping hobby. This past Saturday I was at Damien’s in Hanson for the first time in a while to see Blind Ambition. I hadn’t seen these guys since last summer, but the welcome I got from them made me feel like I had just seen them recently. They are just a great bunch of guys who enjoy the heck out of what they do. What they do is play some great rock ‘n roll that gets the dance floor jumping. They had just played the night before at Quan’s in Hanover and had decided it was gonna be a set list -free night following the opening night Bruins win over the dreaded blue shirts from New York. It was a bit of a small crowd, but lively nonetheless at Damien’s as they settled in for a fun night of music. They played songs like “Animal” by the Neon Trees, “Not My time” by 3 Doors Down, “The Boys are Back in Town” by Thin Lizzy and even pulled out “Runaround Sue” by Dion and The Belmonts. The band was joined for two songs with┬áKevin McGonnigle on bass and Todd Sweezey on guitar from the band EdgeWater FiveBand; a band based out of Weymouth who I plan to check out in the near future.

Blind Ambition is Matt Moran on lead vocals, rhythm and acoustic guitar, Billy Parsons on lead guitar, Ken Webb on bass and Mark Groleau on drums. Their next show is Saturday, January 26 at The Venus III in Hanson. After that they have a whole slate of gigs booked all over the South Shore. For more information please visit their website here. Check them out, you certainly will not be disappointed!
