Campers Halloween Week End in Cranberryville.

October 18, 2011

Gone was the heat and humidity from the pine forest at Gate Way to Cape Resort as dozens of Rocklandites made the trek south on RT 58 last Friday. After the expected hassle and harassment from the long-time disgruntled night ranger working the security gate at the park, the Rocklandites settled into the spacious campsite cabins of this favorite bog-side resort for the last week end of the season.

George and Sheila hosted four generations this week end.

A bumper year for the cranberry industry.

The bumper crimson crop of cranberries was being harvested from Hanson to Carver  as the campers began their annual tradition of fun, friends and family. Many campers go all out for the early Halloween week end, decking  out their campers and campsites with some very impressive decorations. Campers can expect to dole out up to 15 bags of Halloween candy to the hundreds of ghosts and goblins who haunt this forty acre park beginning at 4 pm sharp on Saturday.

Angie has been known to flip flop once in a while

Both young and old enjoy this  tradition that started with just a handful of campers some 12 years ago and has now grown to a record high this year of more than a hundred Rocklandites with their friends and families.
