The Rockland Cardinals picked up right where they left off on Tuesday night with a 10-0 Win over the Whitman Nationals. The Cardinals, fresh off a 10-2 victory over Acushnet in game 2 of a doubleheader Sunday, continued their offensive onslaught with some power at the plate, as well as a masterful 1 hitter spun by Ethan Forrest. Harry Southworth started it off in the bottom of the first for the Cardinal with a leadoff triple, the first of two triples hit on the night for Rockland. Southworth would score quickly on a productive out, sacrifice fly, by Christian Schultz. Schultz would finish the game by adding a 2 run single in the 3rd inning as well and 3 RBI’s overall on the night. The 3rd inning, was when Rockland exploded, expanding on a 3-0 lead at the time, and sending all 9 batters to the plate, compiling 6 hits while plating 7 runs. The inning was highlighted by Tyler Morini’s 2-run triple. Luke Figueira also contributed offensively for Rockland with a 2-run double. Brett Dooley had a very stellar game once again defensively for the Cardinal at 3rd base as well, making 2 plays that stranded runners at third, in the first and third innings for Whitman. Ethan Forrest ended up striking out 6, in 5 innings pitched, on 60 pitches.
