On the Water Magazine Records World Record Striped Bass, Rocklandnews’ Tenzenz, makes it all sound great!

Deepwater Blues sound man, Tenzenz

The Band was just setting up in Falmouth at the On the Water Magazine Striperfest when I heard, “Hey Elmer! Whatcha doing?” I recognized the voice right away and turned to see my friend, Dave Zeninger, at the sound control panel. I knew he did some sound engineering for a band, but was still somewhat surprised to see him here. After the usual greetings and family questions, I met the Deepwater Blues Band and awaited the first set with high expectations. No one was disappointed.  They were great and the sound quality was the best.

 Stormy Monday

Oh, yeah, we were there to see the Striper Cup teams and  monster Bass mounts. And just maybe get lucky and win the boat that is given away each year to one of the tournament participants. What a nice day.  Chris Megan did an excellent job as the day’s MC and a big  THANKS to the On the Water people for a perfect party to end the season.

This year, the tournament had some monster fish, including the pending World Record Striped Bass caught by Greg Myerson. The giant bass weighed in at an incredible 81.88 pounds.

The Town of Rockland was well represented today with Town Hall Mary Stewart and husband Bill; Fire Department Mary Ryan and husband Larry; and former School Committee member Jean Dunn with husband Bob, also an excellent fisherman.  Local Realtor, Linda Mulready, was there as was Computer Bob,  along with other members of the Bite Me Bait Co.  And even though we didn’t win the boat this year, we will be signing up for the 2012 season!
