The Rockland Senior Legion Post 147 baseball team improved their record to 8-6, while going 3-0 over the July 4th weekend.

On Friday night the Post 147 “Raiders” traveled to Chandler Field in Duxbury where they beat Pembroke legion Post 143 by a score of 6-0. Right handed pitcher Harrison Shields improved his record to 4-0 with the complete game victory striking out 7.The offense was led by Centerfielder Andrew Frazer who went 3-3 and second baseman James Dolan who added 2 hits.

On Sunday the Rockland Post 147 team headed down to Orleans Post 308 where they would pick up 2 wins by the scores of 7-3 and 7-6 in 8 innings. In game 1, pitcher Mike Burgess would go the distance giving up only 1 earned run and striking out 7. Jonny Carron had a great day at the plate going 3-3 with 2 runs scored. In game 2, the “Raiders” came all the way back from a 6-2 deficit tied the game by the seventh inning and took the lead for the first time in the top of the 8th. With 2 outs Shortstop Sam Gray reached on a walk and scored all the way from first on a run scoring triple by Dave Lyons.

James Dolan and Mike Leavitt each went 2-4 with a single and a double. Nick Brown threw three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win.
