Rockland Lions Club, Ship Wrecked in Plymouth.

January 16, 2012

The theme for this year’s annual Mid Winter Lions conference was Ship Wrecked. This is a theme the Rockland Lions Club members are quite familiar with, as many of our events turn into one. Nearly thirty of the Rockland Pride ranging in age from 22 to 79 made the trip to the Plymouth Radisson for the 2012 conference. The Club That Has No Fun rented the biggest suite in the place and set up the best dang Lion den in the district. The food and spirits flowed fast and free from the well decorated Lions ship wreck den. Hundreds of fellow Lions from all over Plymouth County made their way to the  Rockland hospitality room number 420. The Rockland Club always goes above and beyond every other club in the district with costumes, decorations and enthusiasm.  This year’s Saturday night celebration included open bar; a full, all-you-can-eat buffet; and the live music of the Fabulous Road Runners. Mike Hyland and Billy Boucher thrilled the crowd with fifty-fun loving songs that continued until security had to cut the power to the room on Sunday morning.   The Road Runners can still be seen live in Rockland every Sunday at the Banner.

Most of what goes on at Mid winter is top secret. To join in all the fun and find out “everything”,  contact a Rockland Lions Member. We are always seeking hard-working, fun-loving folks who are looking to serve their fellow man, make new friends, and discover the joys of giving back to the community.
