ORLEANS POST 308  == 2
Scrappy!, that is the way to describe the visiting team from Nauset/Orleans Post 308. Determined and Scrappy is the only way to describe Rockland Post 147. These two similar teams battled over nine innings till a decision was finally met. Rockland scored quick in the first inning, when Matt Nicholson singled, stole second, and was brought home on a single by John Mulready. Post 147 starter, Jonathan Turner, was extremely efficient over six innings. Turner upheld a two run lead for six complete innings and was solid. Rockland scored their second run, when Chris Donovan doubled with two outs and was driven home on a single by John Mulready
Post 308 did their scrappy thing in the top of the seventh inning, slapping two hits and executing good base running on two wild pitches. Post 308 down 2 to 1 with two outs and a man on third, the Orleans coaches took the gamble and stole home on Rockland to tie the game 2 to 2 (scrappy).
   The determined side of Rockland came out in the extra frames. Ken Turner came on to pitch, and like his brother Jonathan, was very effective, allowing only one hit over his two innings, and stranding three Orleans base runners. In the bottom of the ninth the focused Rockland team started their charge. Cejay Suarez hit a seeing
eye single to left, then Ken Turner drove single to center, and with two men on Sean Alexander slapped a single to right, which the Orleans right fielder bobbled just enough for Suarez to score the winning run from second base. Finally Rockland Post 147
was the recipient of the come from behind break, and got the walk off win.
On The Positive;
Jonathan Turner pitched seven innings of five hit ball with four strike outs and two earned runs. Rockland had NO Errors. Chris Donovan, Cejay Suarez and John Mulready all went 2 for 4 at the plate. Ken Turner shut down the Orleans offense for 2 innings. Cejay Suarez was terrific behind the plate. Sean Alexander singled home the walk off game winning run.
