The Rockland Lions Club Needs You!

July 7, 2011

And there off!

The Club That Has No Fun, The Rockland Lions Club, needs you to help make their fourth annual Ride for Sight a great success. Lion Jay Leahy has rallied the troops for this fantastic annual ride and is now asking the townspeople and business owners to join in the event. The Lions are looking for any and all donations they can muster for raffle prizes. Even if it is a two-dollar scratch ticket (not yet scratched), the club would be thrilled. Any and all business donations of any size would be great. We love gift cards of all kinds from a massage to a pony ride -  all items help make for a great event and to get your name out there. Donations to the Lions never go unnoticed or unappreciated. The Lions members and their families all live and spend in Rockland.

If you would like to partner with this fantastic volunteer organization, working towards a cure for blindness and helping people along the way,  please contact Lion Jay Leahy or leave a message in the forum.

The Lions have fantastic plans for this year’s ride. The menu is always great for any Lions event. The ride will feature our famous Chili, BBQ Chicken, Hamburgers , Hot dogs, Home-made potato salad, tossed salad and macaroni salad. Not to mention fresh watermelon, cash bar, and  the live music of the Road Runners. Raffles, prizes, drawings and tons of laughter are all sure things.

The Cost is $15.00 for riders or $10.00 for passengers and non-riders. If you would just like to come out and volunteer your time, we would love that too. Heck, we will even feed you a burger and an application.

Check out the facebook page for more info.

All this takes place on Sunday, July 24th,  starting at 9:45 AM  in the shady, outdoor function  facility in the VFW pine grove in Abington.

The Rockland Lions Ride for Sight – Come see what you’ve been missing.

Of course, the tireless “Delightful” Debbie O’Brien will be on hand, slinging the   chili as you would expect.
