Haverstraw, NY – A decade ago, the Village of Haverstraw set out to transform its downtown scene by launching the Haverstraw Food Crawl. With 14 participating restaurants and 450 attendees in its first year, the event marked a turning point for the community, drawing in visitors to sample the area’s diverse cuisine and revitalize the local economy.
Now in its tenth year, the 2024 Eats & Beats Food Crawl promises to be the biggest yet. On Sunday, September 15, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, 23 restaurants, five local breweries, and three New York distilleries will welcome thousands of food lovers. The celebration extends beyond food, with live performances by rock favorites The Amish Outlaws, rapper Kool Dre, singer Brianna Knight, and dance group Julie & Freddie’s Dancers.
Last year’s event drew around 5,000 visitors, despite rain dampening attendance. This year, the NY Waterway Ferry will once again provide special service to ferry attendees from New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut to Haverstraw, with complimentary shuttles taking guests to the event site.
“We are beyond excited to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of our Eats & Beats Crawl,” said Richard Sena, president of Haverstraw Riverwide Arts. “Our goal has always been to build community pride through events in the Arts. The residents look forward to this event, and the enthusiasm shows. We invite everyone to come out, enjoy the food, and explore our historic downtown.”
