SUFFERN, NY — Drivers in the Village of Suffern should prepare for temporary disruptions next week as major road improvements get underway. Milling and paving work will begin Monday, October 20, 2025, on several key residential streets and may continue through Thursday, October 23, depending on the weather.
The affected roadways include:
• Doxbury Lane
• Oak Terrace
• Ridge Avenue
• Jersey Avenue
• West Maple Avenue (from Ramapo Avenue to the railroad tracks)
Public Works officials are asking residents to move any vehicles they may need from their driveways between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. each day. Parking will not be permitted on these streets during the project timeframe, though residents may park on nearby side roads. The Village has announced that no parking tickets will be issued while these temporary adjustments are in place.
Village leadership acknowledges that the project may cause short-term inconvenience but emphasizes the long-term benefits for drivers and pedestrians.
