Nanuet, NY — The holiday season is kicking off in Nanuet with a community tradition that brings together residents of all ages. Nanuet Senior High School’s Junior Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce and the Nanuet Civic Association, is hosting this year’s Nanuet Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, December 6, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The event will take place on W. Orchard Street, directly across from the Nanuet Post Office, and promises an evening full of music, entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities.
A lineup of local performers will help set the festive mood, including DJ Hamilton, the Nanuet High School Choir and Orchestra, Coupe’ Dance Studio, Helen Hayes Youth Theatre, and Z-Fit Studio. Seasonal snacks will be available from the Burgers and More food truck, Rockland Kettle Corn, and Nanuet School clubs offering coffee, cocoa, and baked goods.
Families can enjoy holiday-themed activities throughout the evening, including a station where children can write letters to Santa. The man in red himself is scheduled to arrive at 6:30 p.m., with the tree lighting set for 7:00 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to support Toys for Tots by bringing a new, unwrapped toy. Donations will be collected by the X-treme 4Low Jeep Club.
Event organizers extended their appreciation to sponsors Artcraft Kitchens, Banchetto Feast, and the Town of Clarkstown, along with special thanks to Boy Scout Troop 33 and the Nanuet Fire Department for their assistance.
With music, treats, and a visit from Santa, organizers say this year’s celebration aims to bring the community together and spread holiday cheer across Nanuet.
