STONY POINT, NY – A 41-year-old Flushing woman has been arrested following an undercover investigation into alleged prostitution-related activity at a Stony Point business, according to police.
The Stony Point Police Department said the investigation was launched after multiple community complaints involving Duskhil Spa, located at 54 S. Liberty Dr. Police said the department worked with the New York State Police during the operation.
Authorities said Xia Zhang was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a Class E felony, and prostitution, a Class B misdemeanor.
According to police, Zhang allegedly solicited an undercover investigator to engage in sexual acts in exchange for payment. Investigators also allege she performed massage services without holding a valid New York State massage therapy license.
The Stony Point Detective Bureau led the investigation, with assistance from personnel assigned to the Rockland County Intelligence Center, police said. The Stony Point Building Department also issued 15 violations to the defendant.
In a statement, the Stony Point Police Department said it remains committed to addressing community concerns and working with partner agencies to protect public safety and uphold community standards.
Because the charges are allegations, Zhang is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
