A Career, Not a Job
During academy training, compensation is up to $70,748. After one year of service, the minimum compensation increases to $109,620. As a trooper you will receive paid vacation, sick, personal and paid parental leave; health insurance coverage; and excellent retirement benefits.
Know the requirements to take the exam and before an appointment. To enter the Academy, you must pass the Physical Ability Test. Learn how to perform sit-ups, push-ups and run to pass your test. The selection process includes a written exam, physical ability test, a medical exam and complete background check.
