While investigators have not determined the cause of the Pomona crash, safety experts routinely encourage motorists to remain alert for cyclists and pedestrians, especially during after-school and evening hours when children are more likely to be outdoors. Parents are also encouraged to review bicycle safety practices with young riders and ensure proper use of protective equipment.
