Upper Nyack, NY โ As fall cleanup efforts are underway, residents in the Village of Upper Nyack are reminded that today marks the last day for the use of gas-powered leaf blowers. Local Law #9 of 2022, regulating sound in the village, specifies the permissible period for the use of gas-powered leaf blowers.
According to Section 4.C.i. of the law, gas-powered leaf blowers can be used only between March 15 through May 15, and from September 15 through December 15. During these periods, usage is restricted to specific hours: 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Sundays and Legal Holidays. At all other times, the use of gasoline-powered leaf blowers is strictly prohibited.
It’s important to note that electric and battery-powered leaf blowers are exempt from the date restrictions but must adhere to the specified hours of operation outlined in the law.
