Pearl River, NY – Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced the arrest of Darryl Wright, 41, of Pearl River, New York, following a six-month investigation into narcotics sales in the Town of Orangetown. Wright has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree.
On October 23, 2024, detectives from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, in coordination with the Orangetown Police Department, executed a search warrant at Wright’s Pearl River residence. The search resulted in the seizure of two kilos of cocaine, a quantity of heroin, and other drug-related paraphernalia.
District Attorney Walsh emphasized the significance of this operation, stating, “This arrest sends a strong message to any individual trafficking illegal drugs in our community; you will be arrested and held accountable. The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force works tirelessly to keep dangerous substances off our streets and ensure the safety of Rockland County residents.”
The investigation, led by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, received key support from the Rockland County Probation Department as well as the Detective and Patrol Division of the Orangetown Police Department.
Wright was arraigned on October 23, 2024, before Judge Patrick Loftus in the Town of Orangetown Justice Court and was remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail. Executive Assistant District Attorney Michael Dugandzic and Assistant District Attorney John Luongo have been assigned to prosecute the case.
