Thurgood Marshall monument unveiled

A Thurgood Marshall Human Rights Monument was unveiled Thursday in New City.

Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Deputy Supervisor Brendel Logan-Charles attended the unveiling and dedication of the new statue ofย Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall at the Rockland County Courthouse. The statute and ceremony honored Justice Marshall for his advocacy as a young attorney challenging school segregation in Rockland County a decade before the landmarkย Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision.ย ย ย
