Blauvelt, NY – The Town Board recently recognized James Burns, a member of Troop 2055, for earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout through his meaningful and heartfelt project. Burns designed and constructed a memorial garden at the Blauvelt Library, honoring the memory of two cherished librarians, Dolores Doyle and Maria De Lisser.
During the presentation, the Town Board awarded Burns a certificate of achievement, commending his dedication, vision, and effort in bringing the project to life.
Michael Andrea, President of the Blauvelt Library Board of Trustees, expressed his gratitude to Burns for the thoughtful addition to the library grounds. “This garden will serve as a beautiful and lasting tribute to Dolores and Maria, whose contributions touched so many lives,” Andrea said.
The memorial garden, designed with great care and attention, provides a serene space for library patrons and community members to reflect and remember.
