NEW: Good Jobs Challenge Office Hours – November 18, 2021 at 3:00PM
- The Good Jobs Challenge aims to get Americans back to work with good-paying jobs, advancing a more inclusive, equitable recovery.
- EDA’s American Rescue Plan $500 million Good Jobs Challenge aims to connect Americans with the training opportunities they need to develop in-demand skills that lead to good jobs and long-term careers. EDA is looking for applicants who can build and strengthen industry-led partnerships that remove barriers to training, particularly for those workers hit hardest by the pandemic, including, women and communities of color.
- EDA will fund one or more of the following phases, as applicable to regional needs:
o System development
o Program design
o Program implementation

NEW: New York Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Capital Projects Funding – Office Hours
- The NYSCA team will be holding six (6) virtual office hour sessions, during which we will be available to answer questions regarding the application process. These office hours are not recorded.

NEW: NYSERDA Regional Clean Energy Hubs Webinar – November 23, 2021, 1pm-2:30pm ET
- NYSERDA issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support the formation of Regional Clean Energy Hubs (Hubs) in each of the State’s ten economic development regions.
- Through this RFP, $36M in funding is now available over a four-year period to provide a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that all New Yorkers have equal access to the benefits of the State’s clean energy transition.

- Second Round of Funding Makes $48 Million Available to Help New Yorkers Find Quality, Well-Paid Jobs and to Meet the Short and Long-Term Workforce Needs of Businesses

- Restaurant Return-to-Work Tax Credit Program
- The $35 million Restaurant Return-to-Work Tax Credit Program provides an incentive to COVID-impacted restaurants to bring restaurant staff back-to-work, and to increase hiring at NYS restaurants.
- Qualifying businesses are eligible for a tax credit of $5,000 per new worker hired, up-to $50,000 per business.
- The Program is open to eligible restaurants located in New York City, or in an area outside of New York City that was designated an Orange or Red Zone for at least thirty consecutive days.
- Global New York
- Global NY helps New York businesses enter or expand their presence in the global marketplace.
- Programs connect companies with sales agents and distributors abroad and offset the costs of exporting with grants and loans.

- The purpose of the Just Transition Site Reuse Planning Program is to mitigate the negative impacts of fossil fuel power plant site closures.

- Economic Adjustment Assistance: $500 million available through EDA’s most flexible program. Wide range of technical, planning, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and public works and infrastructure projects are eligible for funding under this program.

- New York State Certified Business Incubators and Innovation Hot Spots: New York State has designated 10 Innovation Hot Spots—one for each of New York’s economic development regions—and 20 Certified Business Incubators, which receive funding to reach a greater number of early-stage companies. Support may vary by location but generally includes: physical space; shared administrative staff; access to capital; coaching; mentoring; networking connections; prototype development; and access to other technical services. Innovation Hot Spots also coordinate regional entrepreneurial ecosystems, and can offer tax benefits to client businesses. In the Mid-Hudson we have:

Business Mentor NY is a free resource that allows entrepreneurs and volunteer mentors to easily connect so they can solve problems and build businesses together.
