Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick stated, “I’m excited and proud to have voted to pass the NYS Equality Amendment today. In the wake of an unprecedented decision by activist Supreme Court Justices to remove women’s constitutional right to control their own bodies, today the New York Senate has taken action to amend our constitution to protect the rights of all New Yorkers to be free from discrimination based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex, and to protect against discrimination related to reproductive healthcare.”
