New City, NY – Ivett Nuñez Arias has been appointed as the new Director of Community Relations. Arias takes on the position previously held by Jenna Nazario, who was named Director of Economic Development and Tourism in 2024.
Arias previously served as a Senior Program Review Assistant within the Youth Bureau, where she managed service contracts and assisted organizations in navigating grant opportunities.
The Director of Community Relations serves as a liaison between County government and local organizations, ensuring that Rockland County residents receive essential services. Responsibilities include:
- Responding to community inquiries and resolving issues
- Assisting individuals in accessing County resources
- Collaborating with nonprofit agencies and community leaders
- Analyzing community concerns and working with County Departments on solutions
- Strengthening relationships between County government and residents
Rockland County Executive Ed Day said, “I am proud to announce Ivett Nuñez Arias will join our Community Relations efforts, working closely with our longtime Director of Community Relations, Myrnia Bass-Hargrove, to strengthen the connection between County government and residents. Her experience, qualifications, and recent graduation from our County Emerging Leaders Program will help her excel in this role and drive Rockland forward.”
