New City, NY — Rockland County Executive Ed Day has issued a heartfelt statement following the devastating roof collapse at a nightclub in the Dominican Republic that has claimed the lives of 113 individuals and counting.
“Our hearts break for the 113 individuals and counting who tragically lost their lives when a roof collapsed at a nightclub in the Dominican Republic,” said Day.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families and friends impacted by the tragedy, including some of our own residents as Rockland has a very large Hispanic population including many from the Dominican Republic.
We stand in solidarity with our Dominican community members, offering our support and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Together, we will mourn, remember, and support one another through this tragedy.”
