DiNapoli and bipartisan group of officials endorse Reichlin-Melnick

October 31, 2022  •  By helpdesk1

Nanuet, NY – New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli visited Rockland County on Monday morning to enthusiastically endorse Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick (D-Nyack) for re-election. The Comptroller’s announcement coincided with the release of a bipartisan list of over a dozen Rockland County mayors, supervisors, and other local elected officials who have also endorsed Reichlin-Melnick.

“Senator Reichlin-Melnick has demonstrated real commitment to fighting for fiscal oversight in Albany,” said Comptroller DiNapoli. “He has worked with my office to pass legislation which will make government more transparent and accountable, and I need legislators like him in Albany to make sure our tax dollars are being spent prudently. I enthusiastically endorse Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick for re-election to the State Senate.”

“I am incredibly honored to receive this support from our Comptroller, Tom DiNapoli, who has been a light in the darkness of old-school Albany politics,” said Reichlin-Melnick. “As Chair of the Procurement and Contracts committee, I have been proud to work with Comptroller DiNapoli in Albany to pass bipartisan legislation providing his office with enhanced oversight over taxpayer dollars and state contracts.”

More than a dozen local mayors, town supervisors, and other elected officials have endorsed Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick for re-election in the 38th State Senate District in Rockland County.

The list of those endorsing Senator Reichlin-Melnick features elected officials from all four towns in the senate district and includes 10 mayors and two town supervisors. Among the endorsers are Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

Endorsing Reichlin-Melnick for re-election are:

Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman

Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco

Haverstraw Town Supervisor Howard Phillips

Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht

Airmont Mayor Nathan Bubel

Chestnut Ridge Mayor Sam Presti

Grandview-on-Hudson Mayor Larry Lynn

Haverstraw Mayor Mike Kohut

New Hempstead Mayor Abe Sicker

Nyack Mayor Don Hammond

Piermont Mayor Bruce Tucker

Upper Nyack Mayor Karen Tarapata

Suffern Mayor Mike Curley

Wesley Hills Mayor Marshall Katz

West Haverstraw Mayor Rob D’Amelio

Reichlin-Melnick is a first-term State Senator from Rockland County, representing District 38 which includes parts of Rockland and Westchester counties. After the redistricting process, the new district 38 is entirely within Rockland County and includes the towns of Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, and Ramapo.
