New City, NY – Early voting continues throughout Rockland County this week as residents prepare for the November 3 general election. Voters may cast their ballots at seven designated locations through Sunday, November 1, according to the Rockland County Board of Elections.
The early voting period began Saturday, October 24. Registered voters may use any of the county’s seven early voting centers, regardless of their home municipality. On Election Day, however, residents must report to their assigned polling location unless election officials have notified them of a change.
Polling locations are available in New City, Nanuet, Orangeburg, Suffern, Pomona, Garnerville and Stony Point.
Early voting hours vary throughout the week. Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tuesday and Thursday offer evening voting, with locations operating from noon until 8 p.m.
The November election includes several contests involving Rockland County. Republican Congressman Mike Lawler faces Democratic challenger Cait Conley in New York’s 17th Congressional District. In State Senate District 38, Republican incumbent Bill Weber faces Democratic challenger Joe Rand.
Voters in Assembly District 97 will choose between Democratic incumbent Aron Wieder, Republican Rob Bonomolo and Conservative Party candidate Abraham Klein. Additional races vary by district.
Residents who vote early cannot cast another ballot on Election Day. Those waiting until November 3 will have from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. to vote.
The Board of Elections recommends confirming registration and polling information before visiting a voting center.
