MONTEBELLO, NY — The Village of Montebello is making a significant step forward in digital modernization by transitioning its official web and email domain from villageofmontebello.com to montebellony.gov.
This switch reflects several domain changes by local villages and governments, over the past several months. The Town of Stony Point recently changed its website to StonyPointNY.gov, with the assistance of Rockland Web Design, as well as VJ Networks.
The switch to a .gov domain has been a push by New York State for several years. The switch typically not only bolsters the Village’s credibility—since such domains are restricted to verified government entities—but also strengthens cybersecurity protections for residents and partners, minimizing risks from phishing and spoofing.
Residents are encouraged to update their bookmarks and email contacts. Typically, both domains will remain accessible during the transition period, with ongoing updates to ensure a seamless experience.
