Nyack, NY – A Rockland County village was transformed into a television set Thursday as production crews for the NBC comedy series “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” filmed scenes at several locations in Nyack.
Filming took place Thursday, Sept. 10, along Front Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues and at St. Ann’s School on Jefferson Street. Production vehicles, equipment and crews were visible in the area as work continued throughout the day. The Village of Nyack alerted residents to the production activity, though officials did not identify which cast members were involved in the scenes or provide details about what was being filmed.
“The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” stars Tracy Morgan as Reggie Dinkins, a former professional football player attempting to rebuild his reputation following a public downfall. Daniel Radcliffe co-stars as Arthur Tobin, a filmmaker who becomes involved in documenting Dinkins’ attempted comeback. The cast also includes Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way and Jalyn Hall. The comedy comes from the creative team behind “30 Rock,” with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Sam Means and Morgan among its executive producers.
The series premiered its first season earlier this year and is available for streaming on Peacock. Its second season is scheduled to begin on NBC on Nov. 2.
The production is the latest in a growing list of television projects to use Rockland County as a backdrop. In August, casting notices for the second season of “Dexter: Resurrection” identified Nyack as the location for interior scenes involving an arcade. The production sought both adult and teenage background performers for filming scheduled for Aug. 13.
Earlier in the summer, “FBI: Most Wanted” filmed at Rockland Lake on July 17, bringing production crews, equipment and support vehicles to the state park. Portions of the park were subject to temporary access restrictions while filming was underway.
Nyack also hosted another television production in February. Casting notices for the streaming series “Minivan” called for background performers and vehicles for an overnight shoot in Nyack on Feb. 13. The scenes were designed to depict winter conditions, with production materials indicating that vehicles would be made to appear weathered for the shoot.
Other 2026 productions have ventured elsewhere in the county. The NBC series “Line of Fire” used Hook Mountain State Park and filmed in New City, according to production and casting information. A separate feature film titled “Hunt-ed” also announced plans this spring to conduct much of its filming in Rockland County while recruiting actors from Spring Valley and surrounding communities.
Rockland has actively promoted itself to the entertainment industry. The county’s Film Department works with production companies on permits, locations and logistics, while Reel Rockland says the county has appeared in more than 300 film, television and other productions. Its location database includes sites ranging from the Palisades Center and Blue Hill Plaza to residential properties in Pearl River, Montebello, Piermont, Stony Point and New City.
Nyack maintains its own filming procedures, including a general requirement for 30 days’ advance notice. Filming in the village’s business district is normally restricted on Fridays and weekends unless a waiver is granted by the Village Board.
Thursday’s shoot therefore adds “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” to a steadily expanding list of productions using Rockland’s downtown streets, neighborhoods, parks and waterfront communities as stand-ins for locations appearing on television screens.
