Honoring National Police Week in Clarkstown

Clarkstown, NY – National Police Week is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities. Established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, May 15th has been designated as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls is recognized as Police Week.

During this week, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Clarkstown Police Chief Jeff Wanamaker and all the dedicated officers of the Clarkstown Police Department. These officers serve with honor, courage, and distinction, contributing significantly to making Clarkstown one of the safest towns in the country to live and work.

We acknowledge and appreciate the tireless efforts of all law enforcement personnel who serve our communities, towns, cities, and nation. This week is also a poignant reminder to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their bravery and commitment to protecting the public will never be forgotten.

The Clarkstown Police Department invites the community to join them in their annual ceremony on May 18th at 9 am, located at 20 Maple Ave, New City. This event serves as an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers and to show support for those who continue to serve.

As we observe National Police Week, let us remember the importance of law enforcement in maintaining safety and justice within our society. We thank all officers for their unwavering dedication and service.

Original Italian Pizza Owner: We Will Reopen by June 1st (Or Sooner)

GARNERVILLE, NY – In an exclusive interview, Joe David, the owner of Original Italian Pizza (OIP), announced that the beloved pizzeria will reopen by June 1st, 2024, or possibly even sooner. This announcement comes after a sudden and dramatic closure by a New York State (NYS) Tax Agent, which shocked the local community.

Joe, harboring no ill will, spent the past 24 hours diligently working to renew the payment agreement.

In addition to addressing the financial situation, Joe took this time to revamp OIP’s menu, focusing on the classic recipes that have made the pizzeria a staple in North Rockland. Joe is rejoined by many original team members, eager to reopen and serve their loyal customers once again.

A GoFundMe campaign was initiated by a current team member to support OIP during this challenging time. Joe expressed his gratitude for the community’s generosity but assured everyone that the pizzeria will reopen soon and resume doing what it does best: making the best original Italian pizza in North Rockland.

Original Italian Pizza, currently has 395 Google reviews and an impressive average rating of over 4 out of 5 stars.

Stay tuned for more updates as OIP prepares to welcome back its patrons with open doors and fresh, delicious pizza.
