A local non-profit disability service provider is pointing to a new report that demonstrates companies and the state win when jobs are given to people with disabilities. The Rockefeller Institute recently reported that statewide, New York nonprofit disability service providers reported $14.3 billion in economic output, supporting nearly 200,000 full-time jobs and contributing $2.2 billion in federal and state tax revenue. Maureen O’Brien heads up “New York State Industries for the Disabled” and at a press conference at Jawonio in New City on Friday, said people with disabilities live fuller lives and contribute to our communities when given the chance…

Gerry Acer was named New York State Industries for the Disabled’s “Employee of the Year.” He works at Westchester County Courthouse in White Plains through Jawonio’s own Commercial Cleaning Company…
