STONY POINT, NY โ The Rose Memorial Library is ready to welcome the holiday season with a packed schedule of events for all ages this December. From craft workshops and book discussions to family fun and teen gatherings, the library is offering a variety of festive activities to spread cheer throughout the community.
Light Up Stony Point
Kick off the month at the 3rd annual Light Up Stony Point on Friday, December 6. Join the library for parade viewing, hot cocoa, and crafts as part of this cherished community tradition, presented by PAL. The library will stay open until 8 PM to keep the celebration going.
Events for Adults
- Book Club Potluck: On Sunday, December 8, from 11 AM to 2 PM, enjoy a festive discussion of The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Bring a dish or snack to share!
- Arts & Crafts: Create holiday decorations and gifts with workshops throughout the month, including Origami Stars, Cedar Swags, and DIY Painted Ornaments.
- Painting & Herbal Arts: Unleash your creativity with watercolor and acrylic painting sessions, or explore herbal remedies in workshops like Kitchen Apothecary and DIY Fire Cider.
Kids & Family Activities
- Ice Cream Cone Tree Decorating: Decorate edible trees on Monday, December 9, from 11 AM to 12 PM. Perfect for little ones aged 2.5 to 5.
- Holiday PJ Storytime: Wear your coziest pajamas for a morning of holiday stories and songs on Monday, December 16, at 11:30 AM.
- Holiday Cookie Cottages: Build your own graham cracker cottage on Saturday, December 14, at 2 PM. Bring a bag of candy to share!
Teen Fun
- Ugly Sweater Decorating Party: On Friday, December 13, from 6 to 7 PM, teens can create their own outrageous holiday sweaters. Supplies will be provided, including t-shirts for those without a sweater.
- Uno Tournament: Challenge friends to become the Uno champ on Friday, December 27, from 4:30 to 6 PM. A prize awaits the winner!
