SPARKILL, N.Y. — March 13, 2024 – St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) is delighted to announce the continuation of its highly acclaimed STEM Exploration Summer Program, thanks to the generous grant renewal and support from Veolia. Now in its third year, this annual program offers an exhilarating one-week residential experience designed to ignite passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among rising junior and senior high school students.
Led by esteemed faculty and industry experts, participants will explore diverse STEM disciplines and earn three transferable college credits through the College’s “SCI 100: STEM Exploration” course. Beyond the classroom, students will embark on captivating off-site STEM excursions, interact with members of the esteemed STEM@STAC Advisory Board, and gain valuable insights into potential STEM career paths.
Dr. Bianca Wentzell, Dean of the School of STEM at St. Thomas Aquinas College, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to offer our STEM Exploration Summer Program again this year. In past years, students have noted that this immersive experience has inspired them to pursue careers in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Biology, and more. We cannot wait to meet this year’s cohort of students.”
This transformative program, priced at a discounted rate of $1,000, covers housing, dining, and an immersive educational experience, providing an accessible gateway to valuable college credits (a $3,500 standalone value). Scholarships are available to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all interested students.
