New City, N.Y. โ Rockland County officials are inviting residents, business owners and community stakeholders to share their thoughts on county issues through a new public survey designed to guide future discussions and outreach efforts.
The survey is part of the county’s ongoing effort to gather community feedback on topics affecting residents and to help shape future episodes of the Rockland Roundtable podcast, an initiative created by the County’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism. Officials say the goal is to better understand which issues are most important to the public and to provide information on county programs, policies and services that address those concerns.
According to county officials, the questionnaire allows participants to suggest topics they would like explored in future podcast episodes and community discussions. Residents are encouraged to identify local issues, ask questions and provide feedback on matters they believe deserve additional attention from county leaders and subject-matter experts.
The Rockland Roundtable podcast was launched earlier this year as an informational resource designed to explain county government operations and highlight programs affecting local residents. Episodes have featured discussions on economic development, transportation planning, housing, environmental resources, tourism and business growth. County officials say the podcast aims to provide residents with a better understanding of how county departments operate and how local decisions affect everyday life.
Recent episodes have examined topics including transportation infrastructure, environmental conservation, affordable housing, economic development and the role of the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency. Guests have included county department leaders and other public officials who discuss ongoing projects, future initiatives and the services their departments provide.
County officials said public participation is an important part of ensuring future discussions reflect the interests and concerns of Rockland residents. Feedback submitted through the survey may help determine future podcast topics, identify common questions from the community and guide outreach efforts on issues that generate significant public interest.
The survey is available online and is open to anyone who lives, works or owns a business in Rockland County. Officials have indicated that responses will help them better understand community priorities while providing another avenue for residents to communicate directly with county government.
The initiative is one of several recent efforts by Rockland County to increase public engagement through digital communication platforms. In addition to the podcast, the county has expanded its use of social media, online resources and public surveys to share information and encourage participation in local government initiatives. County leaders have also used online engagement tools during the development of projects such as the county’s comprehensive plan, which incorporates public input into long-term planning efforts.
Officials said no specialized knowledge is required to participate in the survey, and responses from residents with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences are encouraged. By collecting feedback from across the county, officials hope to identify issues that matter most to the community and provide additional information through future Rockland Roundtable episodes.
Residents interested in participating can access the survey through the county’s Economic Development and Tourism website and social media channels. County officials have not announced a deadline for submissions but encourage residents to complete the questionnaire while it remains available.
The county says information gathered through the survey will be reviewed as future podcast episodes and community outreach initiatives are developed, with the goal of improving communication between county government and the public while addressing topics identified by local residents.
