Ballot access/designating petition reform legislation to be announced by Senators Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and Rachel May, joined by colleagues

ALBANY, NY – Senators Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and Rachel May will host a press conference to announce the introduction of new legislation to reform the designating petition process of placing a candidate’s name on the ballot for an election. The legislation is designed to make it easier for candidates to get their name on the ballot – defending voter choice and making democracy more accessible for all. The designating petition process for the 2022 NYS Legislature and Congressional midterm election also begins on Tuesday, March 1.
