Economic Development Opportunities

New York State Small Business Seed Funding Grant Program

The New York State Seed Funding Grant Program was created to provide assistance to early-stage small businesses to succeed in a recovering New York State economy.
Grant awards will be calculated based upon the annual amount of gross receipts as shown on their provided 2020 or 2021 business tax return.
Businesses with $5,000 and up to $49,999.99 in gross receipts: Award is $5,000/business.
Businesses with $50,000 – $99,999.99 in gross receipts: Award is $10,000/business.
Businesses with $100,000 – $1,000,000 in gross receipts: Award is 10% of gross receipts with a maximum grant amount of $25,000/business.

New York’s FAST NY Shovel-Ready Grant Program
Empire State Development will provide up to $200 million in grants to prepare and develop sites statewide to jumpstart New York’s shovel-readiness and increase its attractiveness to large employers, including high-tech and semiconductor projects and other manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and logistics businesses.

NYSERDA
Clean Energy Fund

The Clean Energy Fund (CEF), approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC) Order on January 21, 2016 and later modified on September 9, 2021 was established as a commitment to clean energy and efficiency measures, recognizing that deploying programs at scale has potential to address the pressing environmental and energy challenges, while providing enormous economic opportunity for New York.

Long Duration Energy Storage Technology and
Product Development 

Proposals will be accepted through October 17, 2022
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks to stimulate and grow long duration energy storage solutions in hydrogen, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and thermal-electric energy storage innovation portfolios in New York State by by making up to $17 million in funds available.
