Economic Development Opportunities
New York Food for New York Families Program
This program will provide a boost to New York Farmers, increase access to local foods, and further enhance the resilience of New York’s Food System. Funding provided through USDA’s Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program with two available tracks for funding:
Track 1: Competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) – where the applications are scored against each other. The award amount is between $200,000 – $2 million. Application available here.
Track 2: Non-competitive Request for Applications (RFA) – Awarding between $10,000 – $50,000 to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis, until funding is depleted. Application available here.
Office of Strategic Workforce Development
The FY 2023 state budget established a new Office of Strategic Workforce Development (OSWD) within Empire State Development (ESD) representing a shift in workforce development policy.

Tax credits of up to $5 million per year will be allocated to support companies producing digital games in New York State.

Innovation – Succeed in Climate Tech with NYSERDA
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced that $18.1 million is now available through the Natural Carbon Solutions Innovation Challenge for the development of innovative nature-based solutions that lower emissions and sequester carbon through novel products and services. Applications accepted through November 29,2022.
