(ROCKLAND COUNTY, New York) February 9, 2023 – The RCC Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center today announced the launch of its 2023 Food Enthusiast Program, a series of nutrition and cooking lessons available to food lovers throughout the community. The popular program was recognized as “Best Cooking Class” in Hudson Valley Magazine’s 2022 Best of Hudson Valley competition, while Chef’s Pencil, an international food magazine, ranked RCC’s Culinary Arts program sixth in their top 10 programs in New York.
The Food Enthusiast Program, Butchering & Knife Skills, is being offered on February 23 from 6:30 to 9 pm at the Center, located at 70 Main Street in Nyack. The class will focus on the cooking methods of roasting & braising along with soup and stock making. Attendees will be treated to snacks upon arrival and then learn to butcher whole chickens and pork tenderloins. Participants will:
- Practice knife skills for cutting meats and vegetables
- Take home their personalized roasted and braised meals
- Prepare a “stock in a bag” to cook at home
All food, equipment, and supplies are provided and attendees will eat or take home a portion of each recipe. The cost is $70 per person.
