(Rockland County, NY) – Rockland Paramedic Services is celebrating EMS Week 2025, running from May 18–24, to honor the brave men and women who serve as paramedics, EMTs, and support staff on the frontlines of emergency care in Rockland County.
This year’s national theme, “We Care. For Everyone,” underscores the inclusive and compassionate care EMS professionals provide to individuals of all backgrounds and walks of life. The team at Rockland Paramedic Services is on-call 24/7, always ready to respond in times of crisis.
“EMS Week is an opportunity to recognize the outstanding dedication of those who work tirelessly to make a difference when seconds matter the most,” said Tim Egan, Executive Director of Rockland Paramedic Services. “Our team’s commitment to excellence and compassionate care is something we are incredibly proud of.”
Throughout the week, several honorees will be recognized for their exceptional contributions to the community. These individuals have gone above and beyond in their service, often under high-pressure situations. EMS professionals across Rockland County will be acknowledged for their lifesaving actions, both on the job and in their ongoing efforts to improve public health and safety.
One of the highlights of EMS Week will be “EMS Recognition Day” on May 23, where the contributions of local paramedics and EMTs will be specifically celebrated. This day will feature special recognition for those who have demonstrated exceptional skill, compassion, and dedication to emergency medical services.
In addition to honoring the staff, EMS Week also includes several themed days aimed at raising awareness of the critical role of EMS in community safety, health, and preparedness. Activities throughout the week will include educational sessions, safety drills, and a focus on wellness and resilience.
“EMS plays an essential role in public health and emergency preparedness, and we encourage the public to utilize the valuable resources we offer, such as CPR training and safety checks,” Egan said.
As part of this year’s festivities, Rockland Paramedic Services will be participating in a variety of events and themed days, including Health, Wellness, and Resilience Day, EMS Education Day, and Save-A-Life Day, to name a few. The week will conclude with EMS Remembrance Day, honoring the lives lost in the line of duty.
