ROCKLAND, NY – Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick recently presented a New York State Senate Empire Award to Beckerle Lumber, recognizing decades of contributions to Rockland County.
Beckerle Lumber was established in 1940 by Laurence Pete Beckerle, Sr, whose son and grandsons continue to manage the business today. This family-operated business has four locations in Rockland (Congers, Haverstraw, Orangeburg and Spring Valley), and has a long history of dedication to their employees, many of whom have worked at Beckerle for 20+ years, as part of “Beckerle’s extended family”.
Senator Reichlin-Melnick said, “I am pleased to honor Beckerle Lumber with an Empire Award from the New York State Senate. This award celebrates businesses that give back to their community. In addition to running an outstanding business, for decades the Beckerle family and their business have improved the lives of people with disabilities by providing employment and partnering with organizations that support people with disabilities, as well as supporting the arts, in particular the Elmwood Playhouse during its recent renovation.”
Larry Beckerle III said, “On behalf of the Beckerle Family and the staff at Beckerle Lumber, we want to express our appreciation to Senator Reichlin-Melnick for recognizing Beckerle Lumber with the NY State Senate Empire Award. This award is an affirmation of the professionalism of our experienced and dedicated staff who go above and beyond to serve the building and home improvement needs of the community.”
