Rockland Post 147 Raiders at Veterans Stadium vs Hanover Post 149

Post 147 and Hanover went back and forth on the scoreboard through 6 innings, with Hanover ultimately pulling away with the victory, 7-6.  Sean Roche, (SNHU), 0-2, started on the mound for the Raiders and would be the pitcher of record, when he was relieved in the sixth inning, after Hanover broke a 5-5 tie and added 2 runs for a 7-5 lead with 2 outs.  Jonathan Turner, (RHS), went 3-4 with a double, and 2 RBIs, and scored a run, to lead the Rockland offense, including driving in the final run for Rockland in the bottom of the sixth. Lefty, Brandon Kirby, (RHS), saw his first action on the mound and kept Hanover off the bases, facing 3 batters and recording 2 strikeouts in the top of the seventh inning. Post 147 played a solid game throughout, and would strand 2 runners in scoring position in their final at-bat.   The Players have played better than their record reflects, hopefully, that play will translate into some crooked numbers in the win column, and they can make some noise in District 10, before it’s too late.
