Haverstraw, NY — Alexander Carpenter was formally recognized this past weekend with the rank of Eagle Scout during a Court of Honor ceremony, marking the highest achievement attainable in the Scouts BSA program.
The Eagle Scout rank is awarded to a small percentage of scouts nationwide and reflects years of commitment to leadership development, community service, and personal growth. Candidates must demonstrate initiative and organizational skill by planning and completing a service project that benefits their community.
For his Eagle Scout project, Carpenter led an effort to beautify the parking lot at St. Peter and St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Haverstraw. The project enhanced the appearance and functionality of the property and is expected to serve parishioners and visitors for years to come.
