State Senator James Skoufis (D-Orange County) announced that he has received the formal endorsement of the Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York, the single largest municipal police union in the world.
“With every week that passes, more of our partners in law enforcement are speaking up in support of our campaign,” said Skoufis. “That’s because they know I have always and will always go to bat for them, holding the line when it comes to strengthening our laws and improving public safety. With tens of thousands of members, many of whom have chosen to raise their families in the Hudson Valley, I am honored to earn the NYC PBA’s backing as I seek re-election. They know that experience matters.”
“Senator Skoufis’ commitment to addressing the issues affecting New York City police officers is well recognized, and it will be an honor to have you continue representing our members in the Senate,” said NYC PBA President Patrick J. Lynch. “We look forward to working with you towards our shared goal of a stronger, safer New York.”
Senator Skoufis has long collaborated with area law enforcement to ensure our men and women in uniform have the support and resources needed to stay safe at work. He led the charge to make commonsense improvements to the state’s bail reform law earlier this year, successfully getting repeat offenders off the streets and cracking down on gun crimes. Skoufis is running in the new 42nd Senate District, which comprises the vast majority of Orange County.
Skoufis’ current law enforcement endorsements also include: New York State Troopers PBA, Metropolitan Transportation Authority PBA, Orange County Deputy Sheriffs PBA, Orange County Corrections Officers BA, Police Conference of New York, and New York State Union of Police Associations.
